Italian is spoken in Italy and Switzerland.

Italian has a singing intonation , longer stressed vowels and double consonants (eg bella , gemma ) (this feature is shared in Europe with Swedish and Finnish ).

Initial groups of consonants can begin with s in Italian but not in Spanish or Portuguese .

Station identifications: "Radiouno" , or " Radiodue", or "RAI, Radiotelevisione Italiana stazioni..."
