Norwegian/Swedish

Swedish is spoken in Sweden and parts of Finland. Norwegian is spoken in Norway and is closely related to Swedish and Danish .

The two languages are virtually identical and have a characteristic singing intonation . It is very difficult to tell them apart (unless you are an expert).

Swedish has now evolved away from Danish in it vocabulary and by keeping the old voiceless consonants k, t, and p after vowels, which in Danish changed to g, d , and b. Swedish has also retained the a and o vowels in unstressed syllables, whereas Danish has e or no vowel.
