RS-232 Control of the AOR AR-3030

Interface Unit: None (connection is direct to a 9-pin D-Type female)

Standard Connections Used: TXD, RXD, GND, RTS, CTS

Flow Control: Hardware

Type of RS-232 Command Set: ASCII text

Data Parameters: 4800 or 9600 baud; 2 stop bits; no parity

Overview of RS-232 Interfaces

The AR3030 can operate at either 4800 or 9600 baud. To enable RS-232 operation, you must type [4],[8],[0],[0].[ENT] or [9],[6],[0],[0],[ENT] from the receiver's front panel. RS-232 operation is terminated using the Q command.

Write to memory Either:

nnW<CR>
To write the present VFO contents to channel nn and
enter memory mode. nn = 00-99

or:

W<CR>
To wite the current VFO contents to next available
blank channel. If no channels available, RX responds
with M--<CR><LF>

Read S-meter Y<CR>
The receiver responds with an s-meter sample in the range
00-3F hexadecimal (64 steps)

nn<CR>

nn = 00 (minimum) to 3F (maximum)
